Dear Priests and Deacons of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis:
We write to you in the hope and joy of Pentecost season. Please accept our gratitude for your dedication and service to the people of the Archdioces
Catholic Coalition for Church Reform (CCCR) has been active since 2009, listening to the people, holding two synods with up to 500 attendees.CCCR’s role is to help move the laity from passive acceptance to active engagement, as John O’Malley describes the movement of the church in the spirit of Vatican II.We believe that our baptism gives us the responsibility to work with you and our Archbishop in serving the mission of the local church. We hope we share the same vision of a local church fully alive that radiates Jesus’ core teaching of radical equality, unabashed inclusivity and transforming love. You can learn about our activities from the enclosed brochure and our website at www.cccrmn.org.
To have a voice for the people’s concerns, we have formed the Council of the Baptized, a panel of 21 members from the four quadrants of the archdiocese.People bring their concerns to the Council in the form of proposals for the Council to publish. We have also enclosed the Council’s brochure.
People have come forward with many concerns and proposals to address them, including the following:
You can see the Council’s action at www.councilofthebaptized.org.
We are all aware that our church is being riven by some major differences in perspective. In spite of differences, we hope that we can maintain a collegial connection between the clergy and CCCR/Council of the Baptized. We would appreciate your support and advice. You can contact us, Co-chairs of the CCCR Board, or reply to email@example.com.
