Initiatives Moving Forward – 2016 and Beyond

 LOGO 2001

CCCR will focus on finding ways to collaborate with the archdiocese to bring about the mission of the Church while also maintaining our integrity as an organization which calls for change. We are

  • Actively building relationships with directors of archdiocesan offices
  • Acting when our new bishop is appointed to develop a positive, collaborative relationship
  • Continuing to build the Lay Email Network as a channel of communication and solidarity

Council of the Baptized continues to offer a venue for expressing concerns of conscience. In 2016, we will address the many issues concerning women in our Church. We will continue to consider "Ethics of Citizenship," and welcome other concerns that people bring forward. We do this through

  • Monthly Forum discussions open to everyone
  • Formal recommendations to the archbishop regarding women or other issues
  • Publication of position papers and position statements
  • Endorsing programs for action

Council of the Baptized Open Forum, April 10, 2018

The Vatican II discussion with theologian Catherine Michaud, C.S.J. on March 13 was inspiring.  We will be continuing our discussion of Vatican II spirituality on April 10.  Joe Reid will be talking about freedom.  Find out more details here after March 19.  It is at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 S. Snelling Avenue in St. Paul.
